Stir everything till onion becomes golden brown. Add dry coconut and stir till it becomes brown. Let it cool down for sometime then grind everything with ½ cup of warm water to make a fine paste.
3. Heat remaining oil in a saucepan. Add chopped onion and stir till it becomes soft and translucent. Add turmeric powder and red chilly powder. Add onion-coconut paste and stir for 2-3 minutes. Add shrimps and salt. Cover saucepan with a lid and let it cook for 5-10 minutes. Add kokum and boil for 2-3 minutes.
4. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with rice or with chapati. You can serve kokum kadhi with it.
